My Lockdown Experience.

The Lockdown was either the best or the worst thing that ever happened to you. I chose to look at it as the best time.  I looked at it as a time which I could begin the journey in becoming the best version of me that I can be. But honestly, it was a lot harder than I thought. For many, including myself, the beginning of lockdown brought on a lot of stress, things changing, then rules lifting and the dreaded phrase “the new normal”. I can’t be the only person that got tired of hearing that.

I decided that rather than spending my time worrying about everything going on in the world, I would take the time to focus on me and becoming the best version of me spiritually, mentally and physically. I started to exercise, watch what I eat and started noticing big differences in my life and on my body, which I was very pleased with. Spiritually, I started reading my Bible more and doing Devotionals with my family, which helped me to understand the Bible more rather than just reading it. Finally, mentally, I decided to change my outlook on life and how I approach certain things. I increased my confidence by not caring what people think and doing this increased my mental health by a lot. Mental health is also helped by a good diet and staying active so this helped me increase mental health.

These things are what I chose to do with my lockdown, rather than focusing on all the negatives. I took this time to improve myself in many different ways and these all led to me now being the happiest I’ve been in a long time. While I did choose the bright side of lockdown, I still faced some issues of stress and self-doubt but chose to look past these and become more focused on being, once again, the best me that I can be.
